Body Zones

Dr. William Fitzgerald, the pioneer in Reflexology, divided the body into ten zones. Five on the right side and five on the left side of the body.

Zone One:

Begins in the thumb; travels up the hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and face, down the front and back of the body, extending down the leg to the foot, and terminates in the big toe.

Zone Two:

Begins in the index finder; travels up the hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and face, down the front and back of the body, extending down the leg to the foot, and terminates in second toe.

Zone Three:

Begins in the middle finger; travels up the hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and face, down the front and back of the body, extending down the leg to the foot, and terminates in the third toe.

Zone Four:

Begins in the ring finger; travels up the hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and face, down the front and back of the body, extending down the leg to the foot, and terminates in the fourth toe.

Zone Five:

Begins in the little finder; travels up the hand, arm, shoulder, neck, and face, down the front and back of the body, extending down the leg to the foot, and terminates in the little toe.

Organs or parts of the right side of the body have their reflex areas on the right foot and hand.

Organs on the left side of the body have their reflex areas on the left foot and hand.

Organs extending past the middle or center of the body will have reflex areas on both feet and hands.

The lower half of the body has it's reflex areas on the lower half of the foot, and the upper half of the body has its reflex areas on the upper half of the foot. The waistline is located approximately halfway between the base of the toes and the lower part of the heel.
