[ Biorhythms - Your body's natural cycles ]

I have followed my cycles for nearly 30 years and they have provided me with great insight. Your biorhythms provide a gauge to guide your physical, mental and emotional well being. Charting your biorhythms can give a very real indication about your capabilities at a given time.

Emerson wrote: "Whoso would be a man, must be a nonconformist." Paradoxically, in the modern world it is an act of nonconformity to conform to one's own natural rhythms. Think of all the ways in which we follow the time schedules of others, whether it be our jobs, raising children, being a spouse, dating, and as individuals in other facets of life.

Becoming more aware of yourself and when you need time to recharge can contribute greatly to remaining healthy and living your life to the fullest. If you were in need of a medical operation would it not be best to plan it during a time your body is more capable of healing. Being able to plan your sports and recreation activities when you are at your physical peak. Know when it is best to rest and allow your body to recharge. When to take advantage of your ability to grasp new knowledge (useful when attending school, college, or training courses). Also wouldn't you want to be at your peak mentally for a job interview??

Individuals can obtain more insight into learning about themselves and others; to help develop healthy interpersonal relationships. Creating many charts over the years I have observed and discussed the various experiences of following these cycles with others. We are all individuals and our response to our cycles will vary.

Anyone dealing with pain or an injury would be wise to follow their cycles. There is a strong correlation between our mental and physical well being. Use your biorhythms as a tool to help you understand and work with your body in the healing process. Anyone trying to regulate medication of any sort would benefit by following their cycles. I have used this knowledge to help maintain a healthy stress level.
